  • The Chiquola changed it's name to The Plaza Hotel in the 1920's.

  • By the 1960's people were staying there by the week and month.

  • The Chiquola shut down as a hotel in the 1960's and became apartments.

  • Some small businesses operated in some of the upstairs rooms.

  • The Chiquola Museum will display many of the artifacts found during the renovation of the grand hotel.  These artifacts are fascinating and will transport you back in time.  Details regarding the opening of the Chiquola Museum will be announced soon.

  • The foundation is made from solid granite six feet deep according to news reports of that time.
